Question:

25 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment if he will urgently review the request for an improvement grant scheme for a maximum of 54 cottages and houses in the Avenues, Seville Place, Dublin 1, in view of the second submission from Dublin Corporation dated 24 April 1997 in this regard, in order to allow the completion of the redevelopment of the North Wall parish. As I previously indicated, I have no funds at my disposal from which grants might be given for improvements to private housing. It remains open to the corporation to consider the possible use in the area referred to of the scheme of improvement works in lieu of local authority housing, where this would be appropriate.
