209 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance if the offer made by the Office of Public Works for the purchase of a site for a new Garda station at Thomastown in County Kilkenny has been accepted; and the progress to date on this matter. [14480/97]

Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. Cullen):

The Commissioners of Public Works have made an offer for the purchase of a site for a new Garda station at Thomastown. The owner of the site is considering the offer and has not yet communicated his decision to the Commissioners.
