Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Rental Subsidy Scheme.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

344 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will amend the rental subsidy scheme for voluntary housing to enable rents to be calculated on the basis of income net of PRSI and tax in order that equality of treatment in rent calculations will apply irrespective of whether income is from earnings or from social welfare payments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14540/97]

I am currently reviewing a number of aspects of the rental subsidy scheme; these include the manner in which rent is determined.
