Question:491 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his response to the matter raised in correspondence (details supplied). [14511/97]
Written Answers - Garda Investigations.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that in March 1996 the person to whom the parliamentary question refers was involved in a traffic accident arising from which proceedings were instituted against the other person involved in the accident. A summons was issued and subsequently reissued. However, the Gardaí report that they were unable to effect service of the summons on the defendant.
I understand that this matter is being pursued and the investigating Garda will be in contact with the witness.
