John Browne

Question:

121 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the expected completion date for the new Environmental Protection Agency building at Johnstown Castle, County Wexford; the total number of staff expected to be working there; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15833/97]

The Environmental Protection Agency expects construction of its new headquarters building to be completed before the end of the year. Fitting out will take a number of weeks thereafter and the building should be ready for occupation in the first quarter of 1998. Of the current staff complement of 154 posts, 67 are based in Wexford and will be transferred to the new headquarters. The director general and four directors are also based in Wexford.
