Vol. 481 No. 3

Written Answers. - Visiting Teacher Service.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

139 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science when a visiting teacher will be restored to St Coca's girls primary school in Kilcock, County Kildare in view of the fact that the school is attended by a child with Down's Syndrome; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16002/97]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that arrangements have been made to restore the visiting teacher service to the school in question with immediate effect.

I understand that there are two children with Down's Syndrome attending the school and the service will be available to both these children.
