Question:174 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance if he will introduce a business expansion scheme type measure for registered accommodation and visitor facilities to encourage investment in selected rural and regional areas and particularly County Mayo. [16812/97]

A large number of proposals and suggestions in the area of taxation are received every year. This year, as with previous years, all such proposals, including the ones referred to by the Deputies, will be given careful examination in the context of preparations for the budget.
