118 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the total funding made available for the development of piers and harbours by county in each of the years from 1993 to 1996; if he will make a statement on the adequacy of the investment in marine infrastructure generally; and the plans, if any, he may have to address the issue. Further significant investment is needed in fisheries harbour infrastructure around the coast to support the sea fishing and aquaculture industries in the delivery of the safety, quality, employment and competitiveness objectives for the sector. I will pursue the necessary additional funding to deliver on those objectives.
