127 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will restore personnel levels at the farm development service office in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim to the level of 1 January 1997 to allow the processing of the back log of grant applications under the REP scheme. with regard to the question of restoring personnel levels at the Carrick-on-Shannon office I can confirm that an existing vacancy at district superintendent level in the Carrick-on-Shannon office was filled on 30 October last.
I am not aware of any backlog in the processing of applications under the rural environment protection scheme (REPS) in the Carrick-on-Shannon office.
