Question:129 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will issue for 1996 suckler cow premium and all 1997 premia for cattle and sheep to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [17740/97]

The person named will be paid her 1996 suckler cow premium grant within a week. She will be paid the first and second advance of the 1997 ewe premium within the next two weeks.
The 1997 area aid application of the person named has not yet been cleared to allow payment of headage and premium to her. Every effort is being made to clear all area aid applications, other than a small minority of very intracable cases, by the end of this month so that payment can be made in this and other similar cases during the next four to five weeks.
If the area aid application of the person named is found to be in order, she should be paid headage and the advance of suckler cow premium under the 1997 schemes within this period.
