Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ministerial Travel.

Bernard Allen

Question:

148 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of foreign visits made by him in 1993 and 1994; if he will give details of the areas visited; the purpose of each visit and the persons who acccompanied him on each visit. [18034/97]

During 1993 and 1994, I made 67 official foreign visits in my capacity as Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry mainly to meetings of the Council of Ministers held in Brussels and Luxembourg.

The number of persons that accompanied me on those journeys varied depending on the nature of the work involved with an average number of four persons on each journey. In the time available it has not been possible to prepare more precise data for the Deputy but I am arranging to have it compiled and sent to him.
