The person named did not apply for suckler cow premium during the May 1997 application period and his case will not, be included, therefore, with those now receiving advance payments.
He did lodge an unsigned and undated May 1997 suckler cow premium application form on 6 October 1997, however, which could not be accepted as a May application since the closing date for such applications was 30 May last. My Department is prepared to accept this application as one proper to the second 1997 suckler cow premium application period of October 1997 provided the applicant completes the correct (October 1997) application form in respect of the animals concerned and returns it to his local office (such a form has been sent to him). His case will then be processed with all other October suckler cow applications.
