153 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the problem of a forage area will be rectified for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo to the correct acreage in view of the fact that subsidies are being delayed. [18145/97]
The area aid application for the person named is being processed at present and if it is found to be in order cattle headage payment should issue within the next few weeks.

The area aid application of the person named has not yet been cleared so as to allow payment of headage and premium to him. Every effort is being made to clear all area aid applications, other than a small minority of very intractable cases, by the end of this month so that payment can be made in this and other similar cases during the next four to five weeks.
If the area aid application of the person named is found to be in order, he should be paid cattle and sheep headage and an advance of suckler cow within this period.
