194 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Health and Children the financial assistance or relief, if any, which is available for the family of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal with a very serious illness who has incurred substantial expenses related to, for example, long stays in the capital city while the person undergoes treatment. The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Donegal is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
