Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

226 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for his second eye cataract operation in view of the fact that he was told it would take three months to be called and that was over 17 months ago. [18082/97]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
