233 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide Deputy Higgins (Dublin West) with a copy of a request from the European Commission for further information on the Glen of the Downs roads project and the response, if any, given to the European Commission in view of the fact that Mr. Millan of the EC told Deputy De Rossa that the Irish authorities had been asked for further information on 26 September 1991. The European Commission wrote to my Department on 19 July 1991, on foot of a complaint received, requesting information on the Glen of the Downs project. An interim response was sent by my Department to the Commission on 16 September 1991 and a final reply was sent on 19 October 1992. I am arranging to have copies of these letters, together with relevant enclosures, forwarded to the Deputy.
