234 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government further to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 172 of 14 October 1997, if he will elaborate on the criteria applied in the issue of taxi licence plates. [17583/97]
The criteria for assessing taxi licence applications were explained in general terms in reply to Question No. 172 of 14 October 1997. They are set out in detail in the Fifth and Sixth Schedules to the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995 as amended by the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1997. Copies of these Regulations are available in the Oireachtas Library.
