Question:

371 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the total number of barring orders applied for and granted in our courts system, including the gender breakdown of those against whom the barring orders were sought, for each of the past ten years. [18837/97]

Statistics on the number of barring orders applications dealt with and orders granted by the District Court in the legal years ending 31-07-86 to 31-07-96 together with the number of barring orders granted in the Circuit Court for the legal years ending 31 July 1987 to 31 July 1994 are set out below. No information is available on the gender of the applicants in these cases.
