Vol. 482 No. 7

Written Answers. - Remuneration Packages.

Michael Bell

Question:

24 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will give details of the level of remuneration to the chief executive officers of each port authority, to each deputy chief executive officer and to each harbour master in each port including the amount of expenses paid to each officer, the number of officers who have company cars and other fringe benefits; if he will give similar details for each of the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19135/97]

As I have already informed the House, information has recently been sought from all port companies and harbour authorities in relation to the remuneration packages in place for the chief executive officer, deputy chief executive officer and harbour master in each port.

The information I have requested has been only recently received by me. I have, therefore, not had the opportunity to examine and assess the information and determine the implications. When I have done so, and fully considered all the issues involved, I will make a full statement in the matter.
