Vol. 483 No. 1

Written Answers. - GDP Statistics.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

99 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Taoiseach the GDP figures for each of the years from 1990 to date in 1997 for each of the counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo. [19786/97]

Information for GDP on a county basis is not available. Regional accounts have been published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) and these give details of GDP for regional authority regions for 1991 and 1993. The regional level is the most detailed level at which reliable GDP estimates can be produced. The GDP for the Border region, which includes counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, was estimated at £2,382 million (£5,910per capita) for 1991 and £2,797 million (£6,892 per capita) for 1993, the latest year for which figures are available. Information on household income by county for the year 1994 is currently being compiled by CSO and will be published early in 1998.
