Vol. 483 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Austin Deasy

Question:

22 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who is awaiting a heart operation will not have to wait for a period of 18 months as indicated in view of the fact that she is a medical card holder; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19807/97]

I understand from St. James's Hospital that the person in question was placed on the waiting list at the hospital in April 1997, and surgery was performed on 17 November 1997.
