Vol. 483 No. 3

Written Answers. - Refugee Status.

Seán Haughey

Question:

335 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has made a decision regarding an application for refugee status from a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20173/97]

It is not the practice to comment publicly on individual applicants for refugee status having regard to the fact that applications by their nature are made in confidence with an expectation by applicants that such confidence will be preserved.

I can say, however, that the applicant will be notified of my decision shortly.
