Vol. 483 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

David Stanton

Question:

366 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will report on the conditions of the windows in Kilcredan national school, County Cork; whether he intends to make a grant available to the school to replace these windows; and, if so, the cost involved in replacing them. [20212/97]

My Department has a report on the condition of the windows at Kilcredan national school, County Cork. The report indicates that the windows are in an unsatisfactory condition and require replacement. The capital funding available this year for works of this nature was allocated in full by my predecessor and it is not possible to take on additional commitments. The project will be considered in the context of the 1998 Estimates. I would not be happy to publicise estimated costs in advance of a possible tender process.
