John Gormley

Question:

61 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform whether stocks of rubber or plastic bullets and baton rounds are held by An Garda Síochána; and, if so, whether he will dispense with these stocks in view of the Government's view on the inherent danger of the use of these weapons in Northern Ireland. Question:

410 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform whether stocks of rubber or plastic bullets and baton rounds are held by An Garda Síochána; and if so, the plans, if any, he has to dispense with these stocks in view of the Government's view on the inherent danger of the use of these weapons in Northern Ireland. [21393/97]

I propose to Questions Nos. 61 and 410 together.

The position is that An Garda Síochána do not have such weapons.
