Vol. 484 No. 3

Written Answers. - Redundancy and Insolvency Payments.

David Stanton

Question:

101 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the responsibilities of her Department in relation to redundancy and insolvency payments; the issues, if any, which she has dealt with since taking up office; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22007/97]

My responsibilities in relation to redundancy and insolvency payments are specified in the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1991 and the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Acts, 1984 to 1991. My Department processes and makes payments on valid claims made under these Acts.

No particular issues have arisen in relation to the operation of the redundancy and insolvency schemes since I took office.
