Bord Gáis Éireann has informed me that, based on the results of a survey and an assessment of the potential gas load in the area and associated costs, an extension of the natural gas network to Callan would not meet the board's economic criteria for such a project. Accordingly, the board has no plans at present to extend the natural gas network to Callan.
