Michael Creed

Question:

161 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork who applied for area aid on 20.24 hectares will be paid his 1997 cattle headage and beef premium grants. [22963/97]

The following payment has now issued to the person named: £960.20 in respect of 1997 cattle headage application.

The Department has no record of receiving any 1997 special beef premium application from the person named.

Michael Creed

Question:

162 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his dairy hygiene grant. [22964/97]

The grant in this case will be paid before Christmas.

Michael Ring

Question:

163 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 headage and premia grants. [22965/97]

The person named was paid his full entitlement of £1,046 under the 1997 cattle headage scheme on 15 December 1997.

The person named applied under the 1997 special beef premium scheme on 2 October 1997. The regulatory animal retention period did not expire until 2 December 1997. As payment is validated on a calendar month basis, i.e. applications which completed retention during December will be run for payment in January 1998, payment in this case cannot issue until January 1998 at the earliest, subject to the usual area aid and stocking density restrictions.

Liam Aylward

Question:

164 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will accept an affidavit from persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who both handed in their application forms eight days before the closing date for the 1997 ewe premium and sheep headage schemes on the same day to the local office in Kilkenny and who have been informed that there is no record of an application from them. [23013/97]

It is no longer Department policy to accept affidavits concerning the non receipt of applications under the livestock premia and headage schemes.

A thorough search has been carried out in the local office in Kilkenny and there is no record of receipt of any applications under the 1997 sheep schemes for the person named. I regret therefore that applications under the 1997 schemes cannot be accepted at this late stage.

John Perry

Question:

165 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will review the appeal of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo for his 1996 extensification payment in view of the fact that he is a man of 70 years who omitted acreage from his area aid application as he was not familiar with the rules and regulation. [23065/97]

This case was concluded on 1 December 1997. The herdowner was notified in writing of the outcome of his appeal on that date. In the absence of any new evidence I regret a review of the appeal cannot take place.

John McGuinness

Question:

166 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny relating to payments due to him under the sheep headage scheme in view of the fact that this person disputes some of the details on the form; and if his Department will arrange a one to one interview with this person and a senior Department official. [23066/97]

Payment of £1,830.00, representing the full amount due to this herdowner, has been made in respect of the application submitted under the 1997 sheep headage scheme.

John McGuinness

Question:

167 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will allow a late application for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny under the agrimonetary package regarding animals sold or slaughtered between 1 April 1997 and 10 June 1997 in view of the fact that the application was lodged three days after the closing date on 10 November 1997 and there were some technical difficulties involved in completing the application. [23067/97]

Arrangements are being made to have the application of the person named accepted. If the application is found to be in order, he will be paid before year end.
