Vol. 485 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

173 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the financial crisis facing the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (details supplied); if his Department will provide funding in order to ensure that this very necessary society can continue to function; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23074/97]

I have already approved the payment of grant aid of £100,000 to the DSPCA to enable the society to continue its valuable work in the interests of animal welfare.
