Vol. 485 No. 2

Written Answers. - Planning Regulations.

Noel Ahern

Question:

262 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the regulations, if any, there are in relation to light in a development other than those imposed by a local authority in a planning application; where these regulations are specified; the way in which they are brought to the notice of a planning applicant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22907/97]

Apart from the powers of a planning authority, under the Planning and Development Acts, in relation to the lighting of developments, there are no other regulations in this regard. Local authorities generally avail of reputable UK or European specifications when considering public lighting.
