Question:

295 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number and identity of all contracts in excess of £300,000 awarded by her office or other bodies under the aegis of her Department from the period 30 June 1997 to date; whether these contracts were awarded by public tender or otherwise; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Two such contracts have been awarded by my Department as follows:

Contract	Contractor
Visitor Facilities — St. Audoen's Church Dublin	Foreman Construction Ltd.
Supply of Sod Turf for Canals	Bord na Móna, Newbridge, County Kildare

I do not consider it appropriate for me to seek information relating to contracts placed by bodies under aegis of my Department as I have no function in the day-to-day operational matters of those bodies.
