326 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if a local drugs task force report has been prepared by the Northside Partnership; if funding has been provided for this; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22867/97]

Funding of £10 million was provided to support the implementation of the action plans of 13 local drugs task forces, including the Dublin north-east task force, which operates in the Northside Partnership area.

The Government decided to allocate funding to assist projects identified in these plans in two phases. Phase I funding amounting to £250,000 was allocated to the Dublin north-east task force. Proposals regarding the funding of the outstanding proposals in all 13 action plans (Phase II), including that prepared by the Dublin north-east task force, have now been submitted to Government for consideration.
