Vol. 485 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

Joe Higgins

Question:

170 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the negotiations, if any, which have taken place or are taking place between the Criminal Assets Bureau and legal representatives of persons (details supplied) on a possible settlement for possible unlawful seizure of their property (details supplied). [23458/97]

I am advised by the Garda authorities that the Criminal Assets Bureau has a number of court actions pending against the persons who are the subject of this question. I am satisfied that it would be inappropriate for me to comment further, on what is essentially a Garda operational matter, at this stage.
