Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

201 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources when payment will be made for a forestry plantation application for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if arrangements will be made to have this expedited; and the reason for the delay in processing the payment. [1559/98]

The applicant's contractor was informed on 27 March 1997 that the plantation did not reach the required grant standard and was requested to complete the necessary remedial works to do so. A grant approval application to reconstitute part of the site also issued to the applicant on 16 January 1997. If the remedial works are completed the applicant should contact the Department to arrange a further inspection of the site. Consideration can then be given to payment of the second instalment of the planting grant and any outstanding premium payments.
