268 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the total landing of fish, both quota and non-quota, by Irish registered vessels in 1997; the total value at the end of 1997; and the way in which the landings and value compare to the figures at the end of 1996. [2057/98]

I am providing the landing statistics for the year ending December 1996. The final landing figures for 1997 will not be available until the end of February 1998 and will be forwarded to the Deputy at that stage.
