289 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his Department and each body under the aegis of his Department have complied with sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; and the location where the documents required under these sections may be obtained by members of the public. [1249/98]

The documents which the Department of Foreign Affairs is required to publish in accordance with sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997, are under preparation. They will be available to the public upon the commencement of the Act on 21 April 1998.

The Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange is the only State body under the aegis of the Department of Foreign Affairs which has been designated as a public body for the purposes of the Act. The section 15 and 16 publications in respect of this body are also under preparation and will be available to the public upon the commencement of the Act.
