Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - Land Commission.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

444 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the proposals, if any, he has to reinstate the Land Commission; and, if not, the reason in this regard. [1706/98]

The commencement order necessary to bring the Irish Land Commission (Dissolution) Act, 1992, into force has not been put into effect because it has been challenged before the courts. It is my intention to proceed with the abolition of the Land Commission by implementing the Dissolution Act when the court proceedings have been concluded.
