Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - Fire Stations.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

678 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the current position in relation to the provision of a fire station (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the plans, if any, for upgrading those facilities in 1998. [2107/98]

The provision of a fire station, including any plans for upgrading, is a matter for the fire authority concerned, in this case Donegal County Council. With regard to grant assistance from my Department, approval in principle issued to the council in July 1992 for a new fire station in Buncrana. The next step is for the council to prepare and submit detailed drawings and a cost plan for the project.
