727 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the progress, if any, made in relation to the appointment of a screen commission following her meetings of 13 November 1997 and of 19 November 1997 as referred to in her reply to Question No. 226 of 18 November 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The series of meetings identified in the reply referred to is almost completed and I have received a formal positive response from the European Commission in relation to funding the establishment of an operational screen commission. I hope to be in a position to make an announcement regarding its establishment in the very near future.
