Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - Freedom of Information Act.

John Bruton

Question:

752 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department and each body under the aegis of his Department have complied with sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; and the location where the documents required under these sections may be obtained by members of the public. [1257/98]

My Department and the public bodies under the aegis of my Department set out in the First Schedule of the Act are at present working on the statutory publication requirements arising out of sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997. I am satisfied that these requirements will be met on or before the commencement date of the Act. It is intended that the documents when published will be available at my Department, at the offices of the public bodies under the aegis of my Department set out in the First Schedule of the Act, and at all court offices, Garda stations and public libraries.
