901 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will ensure that there are no further delays in the provision of a physical education hall at a school (details supplied) in Dublin 14 about which representations have been made over a protracted period and which should have been completed by now. [1680/98]
The planning and building unit of my Department is at present examining the detail design-contract documents for the proposed PE hall at the school in question and when these have been found to be satisfactory, the project will go to tender.
It is the intention of my Department to proceed to construction as soon as the tendering process has been completed.
902 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will give a detailed account of the current situation in relation to progress made by his Department in ensuring that the permanent accommodation required for 200 pupils at a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath will commence in 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1681/98]
My Department has recently sanctioned preparation and submission of the outline sketch scheme for the extension project at the school in question.
Officials in my Department will endeavour to examine expeditiously each stage of the architectural design as it is submitted by County Westmeath Vocational Education Committee in order to ensure timely construction of the project.
904 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science when the finance will be sanctioned for an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1683/98]
The school referred to by the Deputy has applied to my Department for grant assistance towards the cost of a range of improvement works and providing additional ancillary accommodation.
