936 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science if a college (details supplied), will be recognised for grant purposes in the academic year 1997-98 in view of the fact that it is providing courses covered in a number of other northern colleges; and if he will make a statement on the matter. BTEC Higher National Diploma or equivalent level courses offered at approved colleges in Northern Ireland are recognised for the purposes of the vocational education committees' scholarship schemes.
No application has been received from the college in question for recognition of BTEC Higher National Diploma or equivalent level courses for this purpose. Any application made to my Department for such recognition would be considered.
