136 Mr. Quinn asked the Taoiseach the proposals for legislation being prepared under the auspices of his Department where heads have not been approved to date by Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1105/98]
I refer the Deputy to the press release on the Government's legislation programme issued by the Government Chief Whip on 23 January 1998.
Item 89 of section D of that press release lists the Office for Economic and Social Development Bill which is intended to establish the National Economic and Social Council and the National Economic and Social Forum on a statutory basis. Drafting of the heads of the Bill are at an initial stage of preparation. As indicated in the press release the Bill will be published as soon as the necessary consultative drafting and other procedures allow.
