91 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in publishing the final report of the National Task Force on Suicide; if he will inform Dáil Éireann of the planned publication date, if any, for this report; and if he will make a statement on suicide levels in Ireland. [1990/98]
While I accept that there has been some delay since the final meeting of the National Task Force on Suicide, I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the report of the task force was published on Tuesday, 27 January 1998. I now intend to write to all the statutory agencies and relevant Departments concerned with suicide prevention to seek their support for the implementation, without delay, of the recommendations contained in the report.
