Vol. 486 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John Perry

Question:

183 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo can be immediately called for cataract surgery in view of his medical condition; the length of time he is on the waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2731/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directlly as a matter of urgency.
