Question:

272 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will now make money available as a matter of urgency for the repair of a playground and entrance driveway of a school (details supplied) in County Cavan under the 85 per cent grant scheme in view of the fact that the Office of Public Works have received a report on the hazardous conditions there. [2497/98]

An application was received by my Department from the school to which the Deputy refers for funding towards the cost of repair to the playground.

A report has recently been received by my Department from the Office of Public Works on the condition of the playground.

On consideration of this report, officials from my Department will be in contact with the school authorities regarding the issue.
