Vol. 486 No. 3

Written Answers. - Employment Levels.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

106 Mr. Broughan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will report on the likely future employment levels in a company (details supplied) in Tallaght, Dublin 24. [2544/98]

In April 1995 the Government approved a grants package towards a start up operation by UPS to establish a teleservices, data entry and administrative centre in Dublin and in July 1995, the then Minister for Enterprise and Employment, Deputy R. Bruton, announced that the project would create over 900 jobs in Ireland by the year 2000. UPS currently employs 515 people between their two centres in Tallaght and Ballymount, and is actively recruiting and progressing in line with employment targets.
