Question:145 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 cattle headage and special beef premium grants. [2616/98]
The person named submitted applications for ten and 22 month special beef premium on 10 June 1997 in respect of five and one animals respectively. Advance payment in respect of the 22 month application issued on 13 November 1997. The ten month application was subject to field inspection the details of which have now been processed for advance payment which should issue later this week.
The person named will be paid his entitlement under the 1997 cattle headage scheme within the next two weeks.

Question:146 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid the remainder of his 1997 special beef premium; and the way in which the payment was calculated. [2617/98]
The person named submitted an application for ten month special beef premium on 21 August 1997 for one animal and payment of £10.81 based on a declared forage area of 1.06 hectares issued on 17 November 1997 in respect of this application. The applicant's forage area has since been amended to 7.06 hectares which will now enable a full 60 per cent advance payment to be made on this animal. Accordingly, a balancing payment of £43.29 has been prepared and this should issue within the next ten days.
