73 Ms Mitchell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will ensure that travel agents are required to inform customers that travel vouchers are not covered by bonds; her views on whether the legislation should be changed to include the bonding of these vouchers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department proposes to write shortly to licensed travel firms to request them to alert all purchasers of vouchers to the fact that they are not covered by the bonds which the firms are obliged to hold for the protection of their customers.
I assure the Deputy that my Department is keeping the legislation in this area, including the provision to which the Deputy refers, under continuous review.
