Question:

52 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has for the future of Devoy Barracks, Naas, County Kildare in relation to the need to retain the barracks as a military establishment; the plans, if any, he has to expand the role and scale of activity at the barracks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2972/98]

The Defence Forces Review-Implementation Plan provides for a review of accommodation requirements to be undertaken at the end of the three-year phase one implementation period. The reviews, which is due to commence later this year, will consider the future role of all Defence Forces installations including Devoy Barracks.
