Question:

343 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, there are to expand Moate community school, County Westmeath, as agreed in the amalgamation discussions; and the funds, if any, that are allocated in 1998 for this work. [3394/98]

A design team has been appointed to carry out the architectural design of the extension project at Moate community school. Stage 1 — site suitability and report —of my Department's design team procedures is currently being prepared by the design team for submission to the planning and building unit of my Department.

As this project is at an early stage of architectural design the question of allocating finance does not arise at this time.
